Groundbreaking of Ilocos Norte's Transport Hub

Seamless and inclusive connectivity — this is one of the primary goals of Ilocos Norte’s Transport Hub. The future Central Transport Terminal in Laoag City will serve as a crucial node for inter- and intra-provincial routes of buses, jeepneys, taxis, and tricycles. As a landmark development of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, its master plan and design provide the following:

  • A secure and modern centralized terminal
  • A vibrant and safe space for public or social interaction
  • A mixed-use development integrating retail spaces, government offices, and parks, among others
  • A renewable source of water and energy through green solutions
  • Pride and sense of place

The design reflects modern Ilocano architecture and highlights green and sustainable features such as solar roofing, rainwater harvesting, natural lighting, and ventilation, and the provision of electric charging stations. We are honored to support the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte through our multi-disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and cross-disciplinary teams from — Urban Planning, Master Planning, Architecture, and Design up to Engineering.

"Once operational, the project is expected to benefit almost 5,000 public transport groups that include drivers and operators of 1,203 jeepneys, around 300 buses, 24 taxis and 3,232 tricycles for hire,” lawyer Athena Nicolette Pilar, acting general manager of the Metro Ilocos Norte Council, said."
