The Batangas City Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Integrated Zoning Ordinance 2019-2028 features plans and programs in line with Batangas City’s vision. Some of its various sectoral goals include improving the quality of life and providing more economic opportunities for its citizens while simultaneously improving the quality of the natural and built environments within the city to support its sustainable development. On October 21, 2020, an online committee hearing was held to present the plan to the Provincial Land Use Committee for the approval of the Batangas City Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The meeting began with opening remarks from Mayor Beverley Dimacuha who expressed her gratitude for the support in the preparation of the plan.

Some of those in attendance were members of the Provincial Land Use Committee chaired by Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, EnP. Benjamin I. Bausas, CPA; representatives from different regional offices; and national government agencies.

The presentation was conducted by Engr. Januario B. Godoy, and it is the culmination of discussions with the PLUC regarding their comments to improve the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The presentation was well received with the Provincial Land Use Committee approving the plan. With the plan’s approval, Batangas City can look toward taking the next steps to implement the plan. The Integrated Zoning Ordinance will proceed to the Sangguniang Panglungsod for the third and final hearing for its approval.
