Cordillera Tourism Circuit Site Visit

Planning activities for the Formulation of a Tourism Circuit Development Study Package for the Cordilleras

As part of the ongoing consultancy services for the Formulation of a Tourism Circuit Development Study Package for the Cordilleras, the Palafox team recently visited existing and emerging farm tourism sites, cultural sites, and health and wellness sites in the Cordillera Administrative Region. This was conducted to assess the readiness of the sites to accept visitors as the tourism industry in the Philippines steadily resumes. In addition, the footage and clips taken in these different locations will be used for the audio-visual presentation for the Cordillera Tourism Circuit.

In total, from April 26 to May 3, 2022, the team was able to visit the following sites:

  3. Benguet State University Organic Arabica Coffee Farm, La Trinidad, Benguet
  4. Tayao Gardens, Atok, Benguet
  5. Lily of the Valley Organic Farm, La Trinidad, Benguet
  6. Batad Rice Terraces, Banaue, Mountain Province
  7. Sagada Weaving, Sagada, Mountain Province
  8. Rock Inn Cafe and Farm, Sagada, Mountain Province
  9. Kiltepan Farm, Sagada, Mountain Province
  10. Mount Data National Park
  11. Aypi Ong Farm, Mayayao, Ifugao
  12. Ortega’s Farm, Conner, Apayao
  13. Bernardino’s Farm, Conner, Apayao
  14. Healthy Integrated Organic Farm, Pinukpuk  Kalinga
  15. Mansanja aw Farm, Tabuk City, Kalinga 
  16. The Ranch, Tabuk City, Kalinga
  17. Ryan’s Farm, Tabuk City, Kalinga
  18. Kido Farm, Dolores, Abra
  19. DJ Farm, Lagangilang, Abra

Every site offers a variety of fresh and organic products such as heirloom rice, potatoes, cabbage, dragon fruit, grapes, oranges, apples, strawberries, lanzones, coffee beans, and textiles, among others. Most of the sites also offer training on organic farming. Among the main objectives of this study is to promote the Cordilleras’ tourist destinations and ensure that these are preserved and sustainably managed, so even future generations can immerse in the region’s vast natural resources, beauty, and wonder.
