The Municipality of Kawit, Cavite is collaborating with Palafox Associates for the updating of their Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP). On January 26, 2023, a Kick-Off Meeting was held to formally launch the partnership between the Municipality of Kawit, headed by Municipal Mayor Angelo Emilio G. Aguinaldo, and Palafox Associates, led by Ar. Felino Palafox, Jr.
Through this partnership, Kawit’s Technical Working Group (TWG) and various stakeholders will be actively engaged in the planning process to fulfill the following objectives: 1) prepare the integrative analysis of the current situation of Kawit and identify the gaps and opportunities; 2) evaluate the existing vision of the municipality and craft a vision of living in a sustainable community with optimum economic opportunities; 3) determine the municipal objectives and goals that are responsive to Kawit’s current issues, needs, and potentials; 4) establish the development thrusts and spatial strategies that translate the development vision; 5) formulate the 10-year CLUP and Zoning Ordinance that mainstreams the Climate & Disaster Risk Assessment; 6) formulate the 6-year CDP; 7) promote desirable patterns of land use to prevent inappropriate development; and 8) conserve areas of ecological, aesthetic, historical, and cultural significance, among others.
