Nasugbu, Batangas holds its First Stakeholders’ Consultation and Site Inspection for its CLUP and CDP

Relevant to the updating of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and the creation of the Comprehensive Development Plan for the Municipality of Nasugbu, Palafox Associates conducted Nasugbu’s First Stakeholder's Consultation and Site Inspection. Prior to these activities, the Palafox Team paid a courtesy call to Mayor Antonio Barcelon last October 11, 2021. The team then conducted the site inspection of the whole land area of Nasugbu and its 42 barangays from October 12 to 13, 2021. The areas visited included religious institutions in Brgy. Kaylaway, Caleruega Church, San Antonio de Padua Parish Church, Calayo Beach in Brgy. Calayo, Wawa Port or the Port of Nasugbu in Brgy. Wawa, and the mangrove areas of Brgy. Papaya.

Subsequently, the stakeholders’ consultation was held on October 14, 2021, where Technical Working Group Members and barangay captains and representatives participated. The series of workshops that participants underwent comprised a Strengths-Weaknesses-Opportunities-Threats Analysis, a Vision Reality-Gap Analysis, Community Resource Mapping, and identifying Community Aspirations and Priority Areas. The stakeholders also recognized the potential of Nasugbu as a self-sustaining municipality in the first district of Batangas.

Throughout these activities, the Palafox team was guided and assisted by the Office of the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator led by Engr. John Paul Vasquez. The data collected from the workshops and site inspection is vital in the assessment and environmental scanning of the current conditions of Nasugbu. This will help the Palafox Team in developing a rationalized and sustainable CLUP and CDP for the Municipality of Nasugbu’s citizens and stakeholders.
