For the redevelopment master plan of the Marikina Riverfront, priority is given to locating major activity centers at identified nodes to encourage the use of public transport. One challenge for this project is orienting redevelopment towards the river, considering that this has not been the trend due to perennial flooding.

The introduction of gabions and vetiver grass within the design scheme affirms the master plan’s technological superiority and innovativeness. Path walks and the pedestrian bridges blend with the environment in a manner that creates a lively atmosphere within this waterfront project.
